20/20 had produced a number of excellent programs that, on the surface, had no common theme. I grouped them into the thread Against the Odds and wrote and produced this promotional "sizzle" reel.

Locations of The Florida Keys & Key West (excerpts)
Client: Florida Keys & Key West Film Commission
Audience: Directors and location scouts
Shoots in the Keys had been limited primarily to the beaches and water. The film commission sought to encourage longer shoots..This video positions the Keys as a viable alternative to Miami, stressing the diversity of locations and personalized support offered in this smaller market. It was designed to play without audio at trade shows, and the info on location shots was entered into a searchable database to help location scouts plan shoots.

Building on a Dream (excerpts)
Client Mel Fisher Maritime Historical Society
Audience Potential donors
Five years after the death of its founder, famed treasure hunter Mel Fisher, the non-profit museum bearing his name approached me about producing a video that would both honor his memory and move them forward in a new direction. The title "Building on a Dream" became the foundation for the museum's capital fundraising campaign. This excerpt highlights the costly scientific efforts behind the exhibitions and the national impact those efforts have.

When neurosurgeon Dr. Richard Spetzler developed a revolutionary technique for treating deep-seated brain aneurysms, the CBS News program "Street Stories" sent me to check it out. Utilizing hypothermia and cardiac arrest, Dr. Spetzler effectively "flat-lined" patient Jim Youngblood. From there, it was a race against the clock to save Jim's life.
